The SeatalkNG system is based on NMEA2000 and the data protocols are compatible. The cabling system is hower different as SeatalkNG carries one extra wire in it to allow for the older Seatalk1 equipment to share the cabling system. Another benefit os SeatalkNG is the connectors are physically smaller than the standard NMEA2000 connectors, making cable routing through the boat easier.
A full range of cables and adaptors is available. The Blue cables create the "backbone" which runs from one end of the system to the other. The white cables (shown in black on the diagram) "Spur" off from the backbone, and are used to connect individual pieces of equipment into the system. The Yellow cables show the older Seatalk1 system. Adaptors allowing interconnection with NMEA2000 equipment and systems are also available.
Backbone and Spur cables, T-Pieces and Splitters, Terminators and Converter Cables.
